Filip completed his PhD thesis at Deakin University, his project focused on investigating the effects of carbon fiber surface modifications on industrial scale carbon fiber manufacturing line and how treatment variables impact adhesion at the fiber-matrix interface. His work involves the characterisation of morphological and chemical properties of carbon fibers, and the understanding of how these mechanical properties change the microscale, mesoscale and macroscale performance.
