Luke Henderson completed his Bachelor of Science with Honours at Griffith University in 2003. This was followed by a PhD in Organic Chemistry, which was conferred in 2008. This was followed by a postdoc at Oxford University, in the area of platinum Catalysis. Luke then accepted a position as an Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Fellow at Deakin University, working in medicinal chemistry. Afterwards his knowledge on advanced synthesis helped seed his research in an independant direction, where he began focusing on surface chemistry (2013). Since then this has become the main focus of his research group, with carbon fibres being the primary material for his research efforts.
